You are right. In a theocracy, the one who controls the religion is the civil leader... And the Roman Catholic church was leader at one point as well

You're a pretty smart guy, that's right. heaven and hell, along with religions are just manmade. They're just superstitions, and they're used by society to control its memebers; it promises "heaven" to the people who conform to the norm and do what is "morally right", while it promises "hell" to those who are deviant!
Even in this era, where facts brought us here; people who live in fiction/superstition still dominates this world!

I think you're wrong. And believe me, I'd rather live my life as if there IS a God and find out there isn't than to live it as if there ISN'T a God and find out there IS. I can't explain air either, and I can't see it, but I know it's there and I'd die without it.
