It's in our history. We decimated the Native Americans. Took land away from the British, French, Spanish and Mexicans. We're the only country to use an atomic bomb on innocent children. We carpet-bombed Cambodia, even though they had nothing to do with North Vietnam. Now we're invading and occupying a country so we can establish a new base in the oil-rich Middle East.
Oh, and to make the military-industrial complex running the show richer.

Our history is more of having too small a military and trying to stay out, only to be hurt by that approach. We had a tiny military in the 1930's and would have liked to stay there. During World War II, which we entered late and only after being attacked, we became a superpower, and we have been stuck as the West's only superpower, trying to impose some order on the world, ever since. You'll notice we don't fight reasonable, peaceful people.

I will write this so even you can understand it.
USA loves not war, USA loves freedom and will go to war to keep it for USA or bring it to peoples who not have it, be they slaves, people who are invaded by other countries, or not free because of their own government.
