My best would have to be my first tattoo. My mother is completely against tattoos so I didnt' tell her I was getting it. I had it for 9 months and I kept hinting towards it because I wanted to tell her. she kept telling me how much tattoos sucked and how getting one would totally ruin my life. When I finally did show her she was pissed off. She started the 'thats gonna ruin your life, that'll stop you from getting jobs, etc etc etc..'
I pulled the argument "if its gonna ruin my life so much, how come I had it for almost a year before you even found out about it?" ....and she just shut up and looked at me....because she couldnt argue that at all. then she just mumbled a "...well if you wanna "F" your body up thats fine with me" and walked out. (by the way, she really said "F" instead of swearing...my mother doesnt swear at all.)

One of my modifications is a tattoo of the sanskrit version of the OM symbol at the base of my back. I had it placed there b/c it's where your kundalini lies dormant till it's ready to rise, if ever. It's a powerful place on the body. I also have the greek symbol of infinity on my arm (left). I like to be reminded -regularly-of the energy coming in (energy comes into the body through the left hand when concentrating) and what type of energy I put out. These are just 2 mod's. I won't bore you guy's with any more :-)

I have 13 tattoos and they're all meaningful in one way or another, they all evoke memories of when I had them done. I think my first was one of my faves too because it was new and exciting and I didn't know what to expect, I got it done and me and a friend who came with me went round to my dads bar afterwards for a drink because I was on a high :D I think I hadn't long turned 18, so 2 things in one day! Ability to tattoo and drink.
But I think the corvus corax wings on the back of my forearms holds the most symbolism to me. But I find trying to explain to people what things exactly mean to me takes away the truth strength of what I'm trying to get across for some reason.

Forgive the lengthy post, but I just get so nostalgic.
Although I currently have a total 4 and a half mods, my fave is the half, which is a portion of my first tat. The other 4 are in my ears, and consist of only 4 holes, but I've been piercing, letting them grow and repiercing them for years!
As a child, I always thought piercings were pretty, and was exposed to tattoos. It wasn't until I saw my stepdad's fresh prison tat of my baby brother's name during a visit that I decided tattoos were beautiful. Since then, I have constantly thought over and planned all my body mods. As of right now, I have a chart containing a total of about 25 mods, 9 in my ears alone, that I plan to get.
As my 17th birthday approached, I nagged and pleaded with my hubby to let me get my first tat. At first, about 2 weeks away, it was all about "we don't have the money right now" because we were both unemployed, or that he was afraid I couldn't take the pain. Then, about a week before my birthday, it became "the only guy I'll let do it, won't. You insulted him when you said you wouldn't get one from him unless you were absolutely possitive you could trust him." My hubby completely ignored me, or started an argument, when I mentioned to him that I already knew some one I was friends with, trusted, and had all the proper, sterile, professional equipment (he wants to open his own place, but is too much of a nomad to actually stop anywhere long enough to get certification)
Then the eve of my b-day came. I spent half the night crying because my previous plans for my party fell through and my last salvage attempt was on my actual birthday and two of the guests of honor were either working or busy. I got on the topic of my first tat with my hubby again, and this time he told me "if he agrees to do it for free, I'll let him do it"
The day of my birthday, I walked to my friends house and talked to him. After much buttering up and sweet talking, he agreed! Then, I called my friend Em (one of the previously unavailable special guests) and talked her into ditching band practice just that once. And she did.
We had the party at my house, then went back to another friend's home to do the tat. We only got to do half because the other portion wasn't scaled to the size I wanted. Despite my anxiety, and the fact that a 20 minute tat took an hour and a half (alot of smoke breaks, more for the fact I got so worked up rather than pain or calming any fear) The original tat was a triple moon with a pentagram as the full moon, and a purple rose laced through. I had an allergic reaction, so the triple moon/pentagram looks crappy, but I was so happy.
Between being with a friend I hadn't seen in next to forever, recieving a kimono, getting to know a fairly new friend better, adn the all around merriment, the first half of my first tat will always be the most memorable!
Oh, and as far as taking the pain, my friend said he was amazed a girl my size dealt with her first time so easily. He'd seen men 3 times my size squeal like sissies their first times, and I spent most of my time moaning in painful pleasure!

My first tattoo.. at age 38. It was a symbol of my becoming free, belonging to myself, and knowing who I am. I now have 23 tats, 11 piercings and 6g. earlobes (in the process of stretching).
Nothing beats the feeling of that first tattoo.
Considering a microdermal piercing, but want to research the safety a lot more.

my first one was an eagle tattoo, got it just one week before i turneed 16 as my bday present. i was going through hard times with family problems and stuff. being an only child with parents seperating different ways and me left alone was painful. therefore i got an eagle done as a symbol of strength. in those days, the only thing i say to myself was "only the strongest will live through" and that tattoo was my friend.
now its a memory, so i'm going to get a cover up, not something to help me go through a certain time, but soemthing that i live for.

All my ink is based on my faith in Jesus. My favorite tat is the one on my left arm. It is a picture of 4 aces and a king in the front. But on the king is a picture of a tribal Jesus.
My name is Ace and I tell everyone that sees my tat that Ace ain't nothin' without The King. And I'm not talkin' bout Elvis.

My first piercing was my navel. My extremely conservative parents didn't want me to get it done of course. Here's the catch I talked my step dad into taking me to get it done on MOTHER's DAY. Let me tell you, mom was thrilled! ha
