I answered this the first time you posted... not sure why you're asking again since you got some really good suggestions but here's my answer again.....

I'm a bit of a horrible cook so the fact that convenience foods have turned Christmas dinner into an easy meal really works for me.

You can buy a turkey in a box that is pre-stuffed and has a little red thingy that pops up when it's cooked. You can buy mashed potatoes that are made from real potatoes already cooked and mashed. (although even I can make mashed potatoes from scratch *lol*)

You don't say how old your kids are. If they're old enough, they can help you make dinner. My 14 year old makes an awesome salad and he's been making the Christmas cookies since he was 4 (thanks to pillsbury).

This year, we're going to my inlaws for a traditional Christmas dinner the day after Christmas so no one feels like a turkey dinner. We decided to do steaks on the bbq this year with corn on the cob. (I lost the vote... I wanted to eat out!!)

Have a wonderful day with your kids. It's not the dinner they'll remember about this Christmas, it's the laughter and love that'll stick with them. :-)

If you want to go all out with a turkey and all the trimmings that's great but if you can't cook all that well or don't have the time or whatever the reason cook what you know. I mean they'll be so busy with everything else that's going on that they'll probably happy with something easy like spaghetti. I mean it Christmas the main thing is that everyone is together and happy. Good luck with whatever you choose and Merry Christmas

Go to the Honeybaked Ham company and get a mini ham. They are awsome. Buy sandwich fixings or go all out with traditional foods depending on what your kids like. Turkey isn't hard to cook either. Or try starting a new tradition. My friend that lives at the beach always serves crab and shrimp for Christmas. My mother serves Speg. and Lasagna. As for me, I do the ham and turkey and all the trimmings. My 4 year old loves "turkey-chicken"! You know what your kids like best (ask them if you need to) and start a new tradition to have whatever it is on Christmas from now if they like. They'll love you for it!

turkey tv dinners? i bet some pizza places will still be delivering, they dont care what they eat as long as they are having fun, also you can do ham easily as its already cooked you only have to heat it, put a can of crushed pineapple on it and heat in the oven the ammount of time the label suggests, get canned sweet potatoes and put them in a baking dish with some mini marshmallows and maple syrup on them, you might slice them up first. get a frozen pumpkin pie and a can of spray on whipped cream.

well it does not have to be fancy they are just kids they most likely wont notice the difference be tween a roasted ham or a honey glazed ham with strtigically places pinapple and cherries however it should be some thing special ask them what they want and try that if it were me i would probably end up makeing a chicken nugget tower with mashed potaotes and gravey.....oooooo that sounds good ...any ways lol ask what they want and make it kid friendly
