A girl I know is a wiccan, doesn't believe in demons or satan. Thinks magic is just from nature, etc. Wondering for those who had been and learned the truth, what did it for them? How did you finally realize it and what made you change?

I'm not Wiccan, but Wicca is not Satanism, it is based on the old pagan religions prior to Christianity. The Christians decided that every pagan god must be the Devil, so they accused pagans of being Devil Worshipers and witches. It's Christianity that's screwed up about that.

How can nature produce magic? I am a Christian but use to deal with tarot, and stuff. That stuff is real ... but it is also of evil - Satan. There is no explanation scientifically for the occurrence of magic. For her to say it is just part of nature, then it would be explainable through science. Wiccan's believe in higher power and spiritual beings and demons, etc., so I am not sure she even knows what she is practicing.

Wicca is not satanic and has never been Satanic except in the eyes of the murderous Church of Rome.

Wicca was about the worship of nature and the memory of things natural. Always was and always will be. Wiccas learned about herbal medicine, commuting with nature and the wonder of the earth.

The wicca religion involved mostly women and this is the problem of why it was called satanic and later practitioners were called Witches and killed in their 10s of 1000s.

Rome always had a major issue with women, particulaly as Paul was such a mysogynist and despiser of women. The truth was he was jelous of Mary Magdelene's place within the Jesus hierachy of followers.

This left him very bitter and twisted and as such flowed into the newly established Church.

That is why Babylon will never sanction women priests or even have a women Pope, fear and loathing of women in power.

Wicca is on the rise again as it could not be totally killed off, unfortunately many of its secrets and ritual have been lost

"Truth", as you so boldly stated, is a paradigm.

I have known many-a-wiccan (and the like). I cannot recall, even once, when somebody turned toward or, returned to Christianity afterwards.
Some "go solo" or follow the path to other Earth-based beliefs but I really can't see any going to Christianity, Islam or Judaism (except for maybe Kabbalah).

Pagans do not follow the testaments nor the Koran so, by default, there is no Satan.

If you can get over your friend being an infidel (or whatever Christians call it today), you will have a friend values life, tries never to hurt anyone, and strives to see the beauty in life all around her. Sound like a pretty cool friend you have there; don't blow it for religions sake.

What people fail to realize is that in order to worship Satan you have to believe in it. Wiccans aren't Christian therefore they can't believe in the Christian concept of Satan.

What did your girlfriend actually do with her "magic"? Is there anything to it beyond fluff like "positive energy". Lots of so-called Wiccans and witches and pagans post Q&A here. They mention magic and spells etc but I have seen NOT ONE mention what cool mystical stuff they accomplish with magic. Makes me wonder if there's any substance to it. And if, as it appears, there's nothing real about Wicca then you probably don't need to be concerned for your girlfriend. I suspect she's just trying to be cool and trendy.

What truth are you referring to?

As far as I know, Wicca involves rituals to praise nature.

Demons and satan are an invention of the Roman Catholic church (modified from pagan beliefs) to raise acceptance of the religion.

I realize that as a churchgoing Christian, you're under a lot of pressure from your family, your friends, and your church to accept what the pastor tells you. But learning about other faiths and cultures will make you a more well-rounded person. Try picking up a book about Wicca; a good one is The Solitary Practitioner's Guide by Scott Hill (I think is the name).

I think YOU need to learn the truth.

Wiccans don't believe in a devil or a hell and we do use the magic from nature. In fact, we don't even believe there is such a thing as "supernatural" because EVERYTHING is natural.

your god created your satan.

my gods do not have a need for a devil. they do not need to threaten me to gain my worship. i worship them because there is no threat of an afterlife of punishment if i choose not to worship them. to me these seem like loving and careing gods and not Jealous and greedy gods.

Wicca and Satanism have nothing in common.

you should learn something about the other religions of the world before you try to speak about them otherwise you just end up making a fool out of yourself.
