NOBLE SILENCE: Meditation instruction is given by the monk or nun leading the retreat and there is usually an opportunity to ask questions about meditation practice. Otherwise retreatants are asked to maintain ‘noble silence’, that is not engaging in any talk with each other, or anyone else, unless it is really necessary.

Each retreat begins with meditation instruction, orientation, and a talk introducing the relationship between the practice and the featured program.

Some will offer residential meditation retreats free of charge. To cover the cost of food and maintenance they will rely solely of unsolicited donations given out of gratitude from those who have enjoyed the facilities. (Others may require you to fund yourself to cover for the daily meals, materials & accomodation...@ the minimum)
All teachings are given freely and their work is supported by a voluntary, anonymous donation at the end of the retreat.
