The mind is like a muscle, as long as you read some, work on problems that require mental focus, and challenge yourself by doing something a little more difficult then your brain train is used to once in awhile you can retain a healthy memory.

Read some books on Short term and long term memory.

You can try all these things but it is a fact that as you get older the memory does go. I will go to a part of the house and forget what i went for also i ahev to make a list even to pick up a few thigns at the store. I keep finding the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge!

Like any muscle the brain needs exercise. There a number of different exercises depending on what area you want to develop. i.e. memory, spatial recognition, vocabulary, creative ability....

Gingko Biloba is helpful for me. But I have not thoroughly researched its safety. There are certain medications it should not be taken with.

yes. Read, play mind games, take classes, eat healthy, exercise, meditate, and don't watch to much t.v.
oh yea, and make sure to get enough anti-oxidants in your diet.

eat a lot of fiber, stay sober, & look, listen, repeat until you have mastered the trick to remember. talk to your self if you have to.

Keep your brain active by working and work on puzzles (crossword, etc.) and read, read, read.
