Such a pleasure to hear from someone with such a clear grasp of a reality. Your points are extremely well made. I salute your intelligence and communications skills. What you say is inescapable truth to anyone who has not fully closed his mind yet. Here's hoping you have pulled back at least one person from the abyss of organized religion. Bravo.

People are quick to turn to many self-help books in vain efforts to improve the status of their lives. The Bible is the only self-help book ever written that not only helps one live a clean, happy, moral life here but prepares us for eternity as well. The Bible is very clear that a small measure of faith is needed to believe and accept the gift of salvation. An open heart is needed to seek and find the truth. When one goes into the search with a closed heart and a closed mind there is no truth to be found. The Bible references it as seeds that fall upon thorny ground. The thorns grow and choke out the truth. We can offer the truth but only you can determine if you can hear it.
You want to hold the intangible. To fashion the darkness into familiar shades. To see with your eyes. To know with your mind. Oh, ye of so little faith. Only the heart can hold the intangible. - as sung by Susan Ashton

As much as I'm not a Christian, the argument that the Bible is false, due to the ignorance of those who read it simply fails.
How many reading Einsteins's paper on general relativity could argue its veracity with competence?
True, the Bible isn't that technical, but undersstanding it involves much more than a single read. If you don't understand what the original words meant on certain subjects, the English leads you to a completely false interpretation.
The Bible may or may not be true. The point is that you can't prove that with a simple critique of those who stake their eternal souls on it's truth.
Lots of ignorance here.... but that alone doesn't disprove the Bible.
Sorry, but that's kind of a straw man argument.

If you want to know the truth about anything, go to the source. Pick up a bible and read it. No, I don't think that listening to people on Yahoo is the way to decide if there really is a God or not. For your sake....I hope that is not the standard you will use, either.

listen here is the answer whether you beleive it or not. The bible lines up with history and the record from all sociteies even those who were not religiuos, every society tells of the flood and we see isreal right were God said it would be 2500 years ago, but the main reason we believe is that when we ask Jesus into our hearts, HE SENDS HIS HOLY SPIRIT into us, thats what we call being Born again or Born from above, now this spirit is not our imaginatio it is a pirit from the living GOd and his word tells how to get it and what its for and the destiny and the begginings of the earth age, and how God interacted through history with man kind. But you must be Born again. Just like Jesus told nicodimas, here look..
Jesus Teaches Nicodemus
1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him."
3In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
4"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"
5Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
9"How can this be?" Nicodemus asked.
10"You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? 11I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.14Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
if you truly want to know him, htis is how it starts.

Hello! Christians don't have to justify their faith at all. They are not compelled to justify anything to dunderhead heathens like you. Who do you think you are to question anyone about their faith. You only make a fool of yourself while showing your own ignorance. So go on and count your monkey bones infidel. xx
