blow drying, curling iron, straightening iron, chemicals in the shampoo/condition, not getting your hair trimmed ever 3-6 months. if you have split ends, i suggest that you go and get your hair trimmed or cut, because the longer you wait then the worse they'll get. split ends keep splitting up your hair, which is how they can get really bad. and the more split ends you have, then the more hair you'll have to. so, if you plan to have really long hair, and you dont want to cut it, just think of it this way, if you just dont get your split ends cut, then later on you'll have to cut off more hair because split ends move up and up and up. so just go to a salon and get your hair trimmed. do this every 3-6 months (3 months is better) and you should not have split ends. Good luck! i hope this helped you out and i hope i made sense to you.

Blowdryers.
Curling irons.
Straightening irons.
Hair coloring products.

You can keep split ends in check with proper hair maintenance: Trim, trim, trim. What you don't want to happen is have your hair split all the way up the shaft, rendering that hair ruined. To keep hair conditioned in the meantime, you'll need to deep condition once a week.

Tame split ends with a styling cream and if it's really time for a haircut, pulling hair back in a loose bun (my favorite trick) will hide all those nasty ends.

the ends of your hair get dry and then split and then that is how they start...it is healthy for you to cut your hair every 3-4 weeks to keep it healthy...
