Yes. Grasshoppers by Keebler. That is the real name of the cookies. Here is the link:

They are really good and taste just like them. They are my favorite girl scout cookies too! They even look the same. Chocolate wavers covered in mint chocolate.

There is a type of Oreo cookie that has a mint flavored filling...they are pretty close in taste. Nothing will ever duplicate those yummy Thin Mints though. Don't worry, Girl Scouts should start selling soon, here in Ohio we start selling tomorrow!

I don't know if it is any better or worse, but the Girl Scouts at my local grocery store actually are able to set up a booth just inside the entrance of the grocery store. It is probably because it is so cold outside. If I have the money I will often have a short conversation with the girls asking them the differences between the cookies, which ones they like the best, which ones they don't, which ones taste best together and such. That way I'm not just buying a box but I'm actually engaging them. My hope is that they will realize that if people want to know they will ask. My complaint is how expensive their cookies are! I understand they are for a fund raiser and that they are pretty good quality, but still...

Funny you ask this.... My husband bought a bag of the Mint filled oreo cookies and mentioned to me just a few minutes ago that they taste exactly like thin mints.
They are new... but try them if you can find them in your area.

I'm not sure but here is a recipe, you might try making them!~~

THIN MINT COOKIES

1 pkg. chocolate chips
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 pkg. Townhouse crackers
1-2 drops peppermint extract
Wax paper

In medium size saucepan, melt chocolate over low heat. When chocolate is just melted, add oil, mix and add peppermint; stir. Remove from heat. Using a fork, drop crackers in chocolate (one at a time), turn cracker to cover. Place on waxed paper and place in refrigerator or freezer until chocolate hardens.

I think Snackwell's makes a very similar cookie. Those girl scouts just don't come around often enough!
