I want to run for long distances, but right now I can't even run a mile without becoming tired.

i would say don't worry about speed first. just jog at a moderate pace start from 1 mile first
and when you get more comfortable with that increase by 1/4 of a mile every 3-5 times you run and build it up slowly
but i have to stress don't worry about speed or time. just stay at a pace you feel you can keep for a very long time
and do your best not to stop and start walking because its easiler to just keep jogging then stop and walk
after you are done jogging. don't just stop either, keep moving by walking and slowly cool down
i think thats all i can think of now

run each day only what you can and slowly increase on that. don't force yourself too much. you'll see the difference in a month.

when i first started running i was tired in 2 minutes but at the end of the month, i was doing pretty well.

It's basically just getting use to it. For example: Running from 1 point to another will only get easier if you keep doing it. It will never get harder to run from that point to the other.

Force yourself to do a little more each day. The more you do that, the better your stamina will be. Endurance is the key.
