another birth....yay? Not even his birthday yet so dont act too quickly, recently my parents (being pious catholics) were in a discussion about how christmas was created and such and i was thinking the whole time how did it take them this long to figure out the truth about it. Believe me its not easy for me to tell them im not a christian because our family consists of bishops, priests, lawyers, and authors and many have become martyrs from English opression. What does Christmas mean to me? It means parents telling their children lies about santa claus and jesus. What does Jesus's birthday mean to me? It means that to me a great deal, the pure influentiality of a man of his calibur is astounding.

Wow, what a great question...what does the birth of Jesus mean to me? It means hope. Hope that through a baby, born in such an obscure and objectionable way...we could be saved and made children of our God Most High. In my opinion it is the meaning of the idiom, "Truth is stranger than fiction."
I am a believer, a christian

Just got full hands on managing Juniors' party .
Beyond that ... gladly I figure out tomorrow is over .
I' m catholic , born not far san Peter's cathedral .
PS
The date isn' t for real ,;been decided by the church to coincide with the older , much more popular at the times , festival of the sun .
Visit Roma sometimes , should help you to grasp a thing or two about the reality of the church seen in his historical context .

I like to think of the birth Jesus as a symbol, that of the light born into darkness, very much like the winter solstice.
Of course, the symbol of the Light has been borrowed from pagan sources, it is still potent to meditate on the sameness and implication of its meaning.
To me, the birth of Jesus represent this cycle, nothing dies, everything is transformed, from darkness into light to darkness again.
It is fine to take any events described in those sacred scriptures and see an historical fact, it is refined to look into oneself for the meaning of this symbol. What in yourself is transformed from darkness into light ?

I'm Lutheran and while Jesus birth is very special, it's his Crucifixion that I'll be forever thankful for, because it gave me an opportunity for eternal life in Heaven.

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth."
Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He came to set the captives free. The birth of Christ means that Immanuel came to become the sacrifice for all sin. He was born of the virgin Mary, the holy Son of God. He lived a perfect, righteous life before God and went to the cross and was the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He rose from the dead three days later. He was seen of many and ascended to Heaven and was seated at the right hand of the Father. One day soon he is coming back to judge the world. He saves all who repent and put their trust in him and his finished work and call upon his name.
Praise the Lord Almighty for the birth of Christ!
"For unto us a child is born and unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth and for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." Isaiah 9:6-7
Jesus, you are worthy of all our praise! Worthy of our lives lifted up to you and lived for your glory and honor.
