I am 47. I have short to almost longish hair. It is straight and very thin. There is alot of it and it VERY healthy. My problem is that I have a week chin. Kinda like the English do.
I need an age approprate hair style that does not exemplify my profile.
( I am not ugly, I have pretty features everywhere else) If you have this problem and have a great hair style, what is it that you have done?
Should I perm my hair? High light it? (it is chocolate brown)
I am VERY self conscious about my chin and want to look as good as I can.
I am willing to try new things. If you have photos please e-mil me at ivers605@yahoo.com.
Merry x-mas!

The thing you want to do is take away the attention from the chin, so you would probably look good if you got some layers around the face - you could style it several different ways, but the best would be to flip the hair out and away from the face. Add some highlights in through the crown area to draw attention up and away from the lower part of your face - also bangs might help. Probably shoulder-length hair would be best for you and you could style your hair where it has a slight flick (not a flip) at the bottom and style the hair around the face forward towards the face. Also, when you dry your hair, use a round brush and all through the crown area is where you need lift to draw attention away from the lower part of your face - use mousse down in the roots to give extra volume. This style is appropriate for most any age and will look great on you!

Get a style that is kind of short, but not to short, like that one that flips up on the sides. Reba Mcentire has the style I'm thinking of. I hope you know what I'm talking bout. You can look at pictures of Reba's hair online. The layers that flip up will give you more of a lifted youthful look, maybe that will help the look of your chin that you don't like or you could try a layered bob.You could wear it straight or you can flip the layers on that style also. Good luck

I would go to a good salon and tell them what you wrote here. Professional hair stylists are the best about making haircut choices based on your face shape. Best of luck! :)
