training a puppy not to pee & poop?

Just got a 2 month old husky. what's the best and fastest way to train him to not pee and poop and to go outside???

Kennel train your puppy. Let it out for periods to eat, play and go to the bathroom. After your puppy eats or drinks, take it outside until it does something. Gradually the pup will get it and will be able to be out more of the time.

Oh the joys of puppy hood. I am going through the same thing with my ShihTzu puppy. She learned fast not to poop in the house but peeing on the carpet and floors is a different matter. I crate the puppy at night so that I don't have to worry about her roaming and soiling someplace that she shouldn't. During the day if I have to be away from the house I leave her in the kitchen because the tiles on the floor are easy to clean up if she has an accident. I bought a set of Poochie-Bells and am working with her to learn to ring the bells when she needs to go outside. Not sure how successful I will be as I only received them this week and thus far she has not learned to ring the bell. Bottom line is that any method is good as long as your willing to be consistent and work with the puppy.

Put newspaper down by the door that you use to let him out. When it uses it, instead of the carpet or floor, tell him, good boy. When you take him outside and he goes pee tell him hes a good boy and reward him. Don't give him anything to eat or drink after 7pm and take him out 1 last time before you go to bed. I personally don't beleive in crate training, why have a dog if they are in a crate? I know a lot of people that does crate training and it works for them though. Just treat him like a child that you are trying to potty train.. except for the 4 legs though.. hee hee,, hope this helps oot.

Crate train him. Make sure you are taking him out as soon as you let him out of the crate and when ever he eats. Use puppy pads in the house and train him to go there. Always watch him closely for clues that he needs to go. And take him out every hour whether he has to go or not.

I've never had to potty train a puppy myself, but I've had friends and family who RAVE about these puppy pads. Here's a website that has them. The scent is supposed to attract your puppy to the pad when he has to go. Says it takes all the work out of potty training? They're fairly inexpensive. Maybe give these a try. Good luck!

Well what I do is whenever they "go" in the house you can tap them on the nose and say loudly with a harsh look on your face, if they continue for a few weeks you should leave them in the backyard when you are go. that helped my dog and he knows where to go now! !!

when I trained my dogs I took them out every half hour and they trained quickly I know it is alot but let me tell you it works good luck!
