I have the SONY DSC H1 Camera and when I take a picture of a person with the flash on....there's a purple tint on where the light hit it....I'll include an example in a few minutes.
What is this problem???

It happen in some digital cameras when the flash light reflect sharply.Better way is you can use a mini soft box filter on the flash or bounce the flash on the roof(if it is white) or turn the flash backward and use a one sq.feet piece of thermocol to reflect. You need an assistant for that.

the flash is too close to being parallel with the camera lens and the light bounces back off the retina causing a reddish tint.

There are several solutions, the best being to use an off camera flash. Or you can take th e pic and fix in software later. or you can bounce the light from the flash off the ceiling, providing there is one, and that will do the trick.

Well, that's really not the greatest digital camera out there to begin with. It's not bad for just being a little digital point and shoot, but there's a lot of better quality options in the market. If there's one thing I try to do with my cameras, it's to never use the flash at all. If it's dark enough that you need one, your shots will end up over exposed and have red *or in your case purple* eye. Try to get people to stand under lights or not in front of windows and you'll usually turn out with decent enough pictures. Hope that helps!
