From where? If i right click next to the start button i can see the option in the popup, but how do i get the icon?

The 'Show Desktop' button is part of the Quick Launch bar. To make the Quick Launch bar visible, right-click on a blank area of the taskbar (the bar that contains the Start button), point to Toolbars, and choose Quick Launch.
However, if your Quick Launch bar is missing the Show Desktop button, you might want to visit the following Microsoft page on how to re-create it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/190355

When you right-cl next to Start, and you see "show the desktop," click it. I think the icon will automatically be added.

click and hold the left mouse button, then drag it next to the start button and that should do it.
