The Bible teaches that we must be born again before we die. Jesus said "Unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God", and "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" and again "You must be born again" (John 3:3,5,7)
Peter speaks of this as an event that has already occurred in the lives of those to whom he speaks when he says: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead" and again he says "for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable, but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding Word of God" (I Peter 1:3,23) John in his First Epistle, or Letter refers to those who are "born of God" 9 different times. This is also referred to in the Letter to Titus in slightly different words where it says "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the WASHING OF REGENERATION and RENEWING BY THE HOLY SPIRIT" (Titus 3:5)
If you wait to die to be born again it will be too late! You must be born again in this life in order to have eternal life. Jesus said "Truly, truly I say to you, he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life" (John 5:24)
Don't wait another moment, turn to Him in prayer now, ask His forgiveness, and ask the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ to make you His child today!

I agree with the Terry Pratchett school of thought. I think you go wherever you BELIEVE you are going. If you believe you are a bad person and going to hell, you will find some version of hell, if you believe you are a good person and are going to heaven you will, if you believe you've had a REALLY crappy life, (hopefully)you will go a beautiful beach, and live there basking in a metaphysical sun until the last of the soul energy flickers away(LOL), what is life but an energy, and energy without feeding tends to die out don't it? I personally aspire to buddhism, and I believe also that reincarnation is a viable explanation, it is a beautiful theroy about how each soul learns by stages to become one with the creator. Don't really matter what you believe tho, cause by then you'll be dead, and all this (in the now) won't matter anymore. The destination is not what is important, it's the journey that gets you there, why not have the best journey you can, and help others to have a good journey too? Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle (Confucious, I think)

No. What eveidence do we have? The words of a book, written by people who weren't dead yet? The people who claim to have died and then come back to life don't all tell the same story, so if there was a "place" we go after we die, it would be the same story coming back to us from these people.
The truth of the matter is we have no proof, and therefore, realisticly we have no reason TO believe there is an afterlife. It's an idea, made up to subdue people's fear of death. People will be a lot less scared to die (or die for you) if they think they are going to a magical, wonderful place when they die. But there is no evidence, whatsoever. Just a bunch of religions all trying to promise you the better after-life reward to get you to join them.

I will not be born again as no one is! I hope to go to heaven but I am sure I will be purged of my sinful nature for a while before I can go through the pearly gates.

Since I am no certain religion/denomination......but very Spiritual....I see it BOTH ways.....some earn their ticket to heaven....others get to come back....I have personally uncovered a few past lives....which makes me believe towards reincarnation more than Heaven...I believe in Heaven....but I think you must be reborn until you "earn" your way there.....
Blessings....

I am a Christian and I believe that there is a heaven somewhere. I think it also serves as an inspiration that we make the most out of our human existence by doing good deeds for others.

that life is over when I'm dead. Better make the best of it before you die. Heaven isn't real, it's a fairy tale
