I certainly hope not because my idiot of a dog stole a box of homemade fudge off the table last night, and I was cleaning up dog sick at 4:30 in the morning, I hope that is the worst of it, he also stole no-bake cookies last week, and the closest he has come to death is making me redo some of my desserts.(just kidding on that last bit)

Lets just hope you're asking this out of curiosity.

Chocolate contains theobromine that is toxic to dogs in sufficient quantities.

If the did only eat a small amount of chocolate then he'll just have a few digestive problems. But, if he ate a large amount hes blood pressure will rise, he will become very energetic and probably have a heart attack. Although there has been cases where dogs have eaten 500g blocks of chocolate and were fine. I guess its just different to each dog.

Some of the symptoms include;
Hyper excitability/Overly excited
Restlessness
Massive amounts of Urination
Shaking
Vomiting

If your dog just ate a few bits of milk chocolate he will have severe diarrhea for a few days. Thanks.

Chocolate is toxic to dogs because it contains theobromine, a compound in the same family as caffeine.Dogs metabolize theobromine differently than humans. More often it makes them sick because only a small amount was eaten but yes it can kill dog.

too much chocolate will kill your dog. but dont get too worried if your dog eats a chocolate cookie or two. it will probably just vomit and have diarrhoea and it'll be fine

Chocolate kills dogs. It has a caffeine like substance and sugar which will cause their blood pressure to rise and can cause them to have a heart attack. Chocolate is also metabolized in their liver and can cause liver problems including cancer. You really shouldn't feed your dog anything but dog food.
