i want to ask a boy to dance at the next school dance but i dont know if i should ask him or he should ask me first. im in 6th grade.

Being your age, guys can be really insecure about girls. Heck, some of them still want absolutely nothing to do with you (even if he acts like it with his friends to fit in). Yet no matter what age you are, sitting around waiting for something to happen isn't going to get anything done. If you want to go to this dance with him, just ask him yourself. If he does want to go with you, he's probably absolutely terrified of being rejected. Don't you be too crushed if he says no, though. It's only a dance, and he might think you're great - he may just be intimidated by your confidence, and be afraid he'll mess things up or get made fun of by his friends who may not be getting asked out. Its very traditional for the guy to ask the girl but i think you should try it if you really want it to happen or you might be stuck with the "what if" question and trust me that sucks lol but if you do ask him you have that chance of him saying yes and the chance of him saying no and thats not a big deal happens all the time.

yes this is 2006 you should ask a guy out, i know the old fashion way was for a girl to wait until a guy ask her out, but it wouldn't hurt to make the first move it only a dance, you only live once, try

Ask him but do it casually, don't make it seem like a big deal. Then if he's dumb enough to say no you can just brush it off and go dance with your girlfriends or some other more worthy guy. :)

a black dress is fine, they had those back in the 60's 70's 80's and 90's too, b'leev it ur not. . just ask a guy you're interested in. . if he says no, then you know and you won't be kicking yourself later that you never asked him. . life goes on, there will be other guys. .
