Here is the issue, The ignition was melted (fused) and I had that replaced, I had the starter replaced. Now I can start the car if the ignition is on and I apply 12V directly to the starter. Any ideas on what links and where to find? Any diagrams on the web?

Yes, there are several fusible links on these cars as with most others. To check to see if they are okay is as simple as tugging on the links. If they quickly pull apart, the link is melted and only the insulation will still be there. There is a wiring diagram for all of this on any manufacturers site. I am not sure if you are asking about a link between the actual starter solenoid to the ignition switch for starter engage? If this is the question, then no is the answer. The circuit is protected from the source back and the source is the battery connection at the big starter connector where all the links are installed. Any power going back into any car is protected as close as possible to the source to avoid any type of potential ignition. Does that help?
