The current regime in Iran certainly offers good reason for confrontation, however the people of Iran have some control over their future and have begun to show impatience and displeasure over the duly elected president, Ahmadinejad! They believe he spends entirely too much time confronting the west and threatening Israel, both, no win situations.
N.Korea on the other hand, is like a trapped rat. It has no money and it's people are starving to death. The people have no voice because Kim Jong Il is an absolute and total dictator. The country will sink or swim under his dictate, and know one has the courage to simply kill the pathetic son-of-a-bi tch. His insistence on developing nuclear bombs has already got Japan gearing up with it's own defensive measures that will turn into an offensive posture as N.Korea continues it's quest for more power.
Once Japan decides that it will become a super power as well as an economic power, it will do so in days and weeks, not months and years.
All in all, I would say that Iran and N.Korea offer the biggest challenges, however two of Americas most important allies might just beat us to the punch in neutralizing these two countries. They of coarse are Israel and Japan!

Well, we should probably define war, since history shows us that a formal declaration by congress is now the exception.
Are we discussing a military strike, or a protracted engagement?
Some anticipate a military strike to destroy Iran's nuclear capability before Bush leaves office.
I think a new, longer campaign is unlikely in the short term, unless there is another attack in the US.

The US won't be in a war for a while unless it reinstates the draft and rebuilds its military. The military is stretched too much and the army's short on equipment.
But I imagine if the US military was at 100%, it would invade either Syria or Iran.
Definately not China and definately not North Korea. Both of those countries have advanced militaries complemented by nukes and if you know the US good enough, you know that the US doesn't invade countries that it suspects of having nuclear weapons.

North Korea. it may never be Russia because of the fact they're greater useful than us and function greater allies. Arab international locations are susceptible and Russian factors with them no remember what. we are in Debt to China so we wouldnt flow against them, surely, If China desperate to flow to war the following day we could be dragged in as properly because of the fact we could desire to pay of our debt with our troops

The one country that has always been a threat to the USA is Cuba. If we're going to invade another soverign nation, let it be Cuba. This would be a win for the people of Cuba and a win for the USA.
