second, military personnel are humans too. They are people just like you. And a large % of people who join the military (unfortunately) do it just for the college money and benefits.

Just be glad that you are safe at home and not walking around everyday with an M-16 and wearing a flack vest and night vision goggles.

There are bad people in every society and in every situation. You don't judge all by the few. People that would do this sort of thing would do it whether they were military or not, it 's just the the military gives them more opportunities to do it.
Why does the UN rape and murder the very people they are suppose to be protecting? Are you not tired of hearing about that?

Look, I know you are trying to get a rise out of us ie serviceman, but, like all groups of people, there are people who are capable of doing unneccesary harm and violence to others. Recruiting weeds out most of these people/animals but unfortunately some slip through. I'm not condoning these actions and I am at a loss as to why the world's defence forces attempt to cover up attrocities. I just hope that one day we will learn from these and hopefully avoid unneccesary (?) wars and further acts of inhumanity.

Well the military isn't perfect you know. We are still human beings, and being stressed to the point of mental illness, we'll do stupid things. Just because we are the military and our job is to fight the offenders and protect civilians, doesn't mean you have the right to stereo type us!! For starters, your info is coming from Wikipedia. Not the most reliable source. Also, do you understand the concept of war? War is a horrible thing, and some civilians are going to be harmed, because terrorists are to wimpy to come out and fight, but instead hide themseles among women and children. Its people whining about the poor civilians who hide the terrorists who get our soldiers killed. Thanks to people like you our troops die. Get real.
