I think you'll find these are not the best still pictures on the planet. They'll be OK for 4x6 or 5x7 prints and may be a bit on the grainy and washed out side for some tastes.

Video cameras and still cameras operate in vastly diiferent ways. To expect a camcorder or a digital camera to be good at both is asking a lot. If you want good quality video and stills buy a good camcorder and a good digital camera.
