it def looks realistic, in the sense that it can be accomplished... but would it be safe?

would it be worth the oil to set something like that up?

i think it will happen one day, but on a smaller scale than that picture...

Yes, its definately feasible. Back in World War 2 they were going to build massive island airbases out of "pycrete" (which is a frozen slurry of woodchips and water) and use them to invade Japan. Thankfully it didnt come to that.

it could probably be built within the next ten years as described in the article. all they have to do is just build a bunch of small floating islands and connect them. however, it would cost more than it is probably worth.
