I have a jack russell terrier and she had pups by a stray dog so now how long do I have to wait before I take her to the vet so she won't be able to have anymore pups.

When her milk is dried completely up, take her into the vet and have it done then!!

Basically, she won't go into heat again for 5-6 months. However, she can be spayed once her pups are well weaned and eating on their own. I urge you to keep pups until at least 8-9 wks for the nurturing between mom/litter. This makes for secure, healthier pups to find homes for. I know many push them off way too early, 5-6 wks. That is when they should get first deworming and shot, be checked out. If you are selling them, charge fee for the vetting.
Check with your vet on how soon after he feels is ok to spay. May depend on overall health of mom and it takes her awhile to recuperate her weight from pups.

as soon as the puppies are weened about 7 weeks is when they are completely weened then you can make an appointment with the vet to have her spayed,,, she will not go into heat for another 6 months but you need to have her spayed when the puppies are 8 weeks old then you wont have another suprise of puppies, i hope this has helped and please have her spayed thier we are very over populated with animals,,, Happy Holidays

How was a stray dog able to enter your yard to mate with your dog?
That's extremely irresponsible.
However good on your for getting the dog de-sexed, I would have aborted the puppies but that is just me.

As soon as she is done raising the puppies, at about 8 wks., she can be spayed.
