please only answer if u really know! i wanna make sugar cookies for christmas but i have only light butter will that work??

I use light butter (lactancia) every year in my sugar cookies and short bread and it works just fine for me. Yes, it does have more additives and a higher sugar content, but if you're after lower fat go for it! It tasted the same for me, too.

Light "butter" isn't butter, therefore it will not produce an end result identical to real butter. To replace the fat, they simply whip water and starches to create a semi-solid. This mixture won't work in most baked goods; cookies will usually go flat. Sorry!!!

P.S. Shortbread (as referred to in the above comment) isn't affected as much because it is already flat and dense.

yes you can use light butter it will not effect the recipe or the taste i do it all the time because of the cholesterol and being diebetic.

light butter is full of so many bad things, i use regular butter or olive oil
