for xmas my b/f bought be a ring from Gordons Jewerlers, but he just bought the standard size ring and I'll need it to be resized to an 11...Is that even possible? And does the store do onsite repairs? or is it going to take a couple days?

Take the ring back and ask if they would be able to get it in your size. If not, hopefully they will be able to size it up to an 11. If the ring has channel set diamonds, which means the diamonds are set into the ring in a channel without prongs, and they would only be able to go up to 2 sizes. This definitely is not a repair while you wait. The jeweler will have to build part of the shank since the ring will have to sized up 4 or 5 sizes. Even heating and stretching the shank can make the ring too thin, and it will wear and bend easily.

It depends on where you go and what their policy is. Normally, if you resize it 1-2 sizes up it won't cost you anything (if you go where he bought it), but if it's the standard size which is normally 7 or 7.5 then you will need to pay some extra money to make it an 11. Some jewelers have in-store repair and some have to be mailed out and can take up to 2-4 weeks.

Well it doesn't matter what size ring you have it can be resized but all rings take from about 2 days to 4 days depends on how busy the jewelers is. But take it right now the sooner they get it the sooner you get it back

I had a ring resized once. If you need it bigger I *think* they heat it and stretch it. If you need it smaller they cut a chunk out of it then bend it to make a smaller circle.
When I had the latter one done it took 3 days.

It will take a few days, take it to Gordon's tell them you need it sized and they send it out for a week tops.

Eleven??? Wow.

They will probably want to send it off. Very few will do that type of thing while you wait.
