The Gospel of Luke tells us that when the angels announced the birth of Jesus they called it "good news of great joy for all people." What would be good news for you this year?

That someone paid off my debt. That my family would be healthy until they die of natural causes. That my sister would wake up and realize she's leading an unhealthy and unhappy life. That my best friend could get pregnant after three years of trying and endless fertility treatments. That my boyfriend would no longer suffer from depression. That someone would hire me as a full-time college instructor. That . . . .
I think I'm done now.

For me, it would first be that the Lord would return to relieve us Christians of this wretched, sinful and disgraceful world and boy, I hope it's soon!
Secondly, it would be someone calling me about a job. I've been out of work since August, have my resume posted on several sites, been faxing it - the whole nine yards. I'm sick of being broke and struggling to pay my bills on what little unemployment I'm getting, especially now at Christmas, 'cause I am unable to buy presents this year. It's not Christmas for me this year 'cause I'm down in the dumps, unable to shop for gifts. Hopefully next year will be better.
