whats it feel like when they use sleeping gas on you?how fast dose it take to work and how long are you out for?plz answer next week im going to the dentist to have 3 teeth removed and would like to know what to expect.Thanks

Eh, it's nothing special. It's called sleeping gas, but you don't always get enough to be put to sleep. When I had it, I just felt really detached from what was going on. The room was spinning slightly as well.

i got the gas and it didnt even work for me, it made me a little drowsy, for a couple of minutes and then wore off. They pulled my tooth and I almost hit the roof, cause I felt everything.
Now I only get the intravenous sedation when I go to the dentist, for something i know will be painful, usually used if i need multiple procedures done
I just had eight teeth pulled with iv sedation,(got dentures) didnt even remember being put under and felt no pain at all
For me iv sedation was the way to go. My dental insurance paid some of the cost of it, i think it was something like $30.00 for the first 15 minutes.

The best thing to do is ask your dentist. There are 2 types of gas. One is general anaesthetic that puts u out completely. The other is nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, where u feel very relaxed and is used in conjunction with local anaesthetic.

The gas they use doesn't really put you to sleep, it just really relaxes you. I think it makes you feel floaty. I always get the gas (nitrous oxide). I get nervous and it really helps. It takes affect very fast. I am going to the dentist next week too.lol I will definanly have my gas! Good Luck.

take the gas ! it is the bomb ! i use to be scared of the dentist till i started getting the gas , now it*s worth the trip just to get the gas ! ha ! wish i could get a tank to go ! ha !

it depends on you personally like it took me a while to get knocked out. but it works very well :)call me!
