All puppies are born with worms. They have to get de-wormed twice in the beginning. Then, put them on a monthly pill like Interceptor. Don't be scared, they all have it at first. I would make an appointment with another vet that can see you earlier.

pups need to be dewormed 2 or 3 times before its complete the first deworming only killed the live worms at the time.. the eggs have hatched since and a new generation of worms is pressent..

you can get dewormer at pet stores but it wont kill all kinds of worms -
what can you do?? call your vet and see if you can get in sooner - also clean up all poop IMMEDIATELY so she doesnt eat it

Don't panic. Make a new appointment and say exactally what you said here. My puppy had worms pretty badly too and the vet gave us a pill that was given in three doses and the worms were gone. So don't panic just bring the little guy in and get some professional help. Best wishes, and happy holidays!

Most vets have a puppy wellness program which will include all the necessary shots and a deworming. I would not give a puppy and over the counter wormer, it is relatively inexpensive at the vet and like I said comes with most wellness programs.

take her to the vet ASAP and have him do a fecal exam to check for all types of worms. Also, have her checked for other parasites. You don't say how old she is but, I would take her records that you got from the "Breeder" and have the vet check them too. If it had been dewormed, it may have been with the wrong medicine. It sounds like roundworms to me. Round, hook, tape and whipworm are the ones you need him to check for. Also ask him about a heartworm test and preventative to put her on. I hate when people get sold dogs that are not healthy and are told they are.
Good luck with her.

Contact the vet again and advise that the dog has visible worms and see if they can allow you tp ick up the medication before the appt. Sometimes its liquid or just a pill.

That's not unusual. Don't worry, get to the vet asap, but he/she will give you a one time med to take and it will solve your problem (I suggest taking a stool sample or paying close attention to what they look like as there are two different kinds). Congratulations on the new pup.

I would get the dog to the vet asap, possibly see if you can get the appointment moved up sooner,as Jan 5th is two weeks away.

You can buy some puppy wormer and give it according to the wieght and directions on the package. This should help with the problem until you keep the vet appointment. Be sure to follow all directions on the package as you can easily overdose the puppy.

I just got a dog from a friend and he had worms. He is pretty skinny, and i'm trying to figure out how to get him back to normal weight. First you're going to have to get rid of the worms. they sell worm medicine at agricultural/farm stores, but be sure to get the right dose for how big the dog is. From there, the most prevelent answer i've gotten is eggs and rice to get him back to size.
