I recently saw a question that used the phrase, “carrying our sins in the cross.” My question is how does that phrase relate to sinful thoughts and actions of the human mind? Does it mean that because we are sinners, we keep sinning, wait for death to overtake us, and then go to heaven because he carried our sins in the cross? If this be so, then what, there is no hell (punishment for sin)?

Christian are taught in the Bible that ALL sin will be forgiven except Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Jesus took all the worlds sin onto Himself and died for them. All He asked is you except the gift of life through faith in Him. If you say that isn't true, or isn't good enough then you are denying the Holy Spirit who is trying to teach you of the gift Blaspheming His name.. That will be the charge a person will be charged with ... Not lying... Jim

Jesus came to earth and offered up his perfect human life as a ransom sacrifice to buy back what Adam(also a perfect human) lost for all mankind. And that was the prospect of eternal life on earth.
God created the first human pair perfect and designed them to live forever. He placed them in a garded paradise and told them to be fruitful and multiply.
This was God's original plan for mankind. When the rebellion took place in Eden,Adam and Eve not only lost all that for themselves, but as their descendents,we too are enslaved now to sin and death.
Jesus by paying the ransom, has opened up the way for obedient mankind to once again have the hope of the fulfillment of the promise.
We are still imperfect and sinners. We cannot do anything about that.We for now consciously or not will sin. However we can try to resist temptation and deliberate sin.
The Bible does not teach that all good people go to heaven. The earth was created for mankind to inhabit. The heavenly realm is for the spirit creation.
The Bible clearly teaches that after God's great and fear inspiring day of Armageddon, when all wickedness and man made rule will be done away with, then those righteous ones left over will have the prospect of living on the earth.During that time the dead will also be resurrected.
There is much to say on the topic. If you are interested why not consider going to your local kingdom hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. They have a thorough and accurate understanding of the Holy Scriptures and conduct free home bible studies.

This is a very good question. In the Old Testament, if a person sinned...a sacrifice was made with a pure and unblemished animal for sins. An innnocent lamb, dove, goat, or calf. The bible continuously refers to Jesus as the lamb of God, the sacrifice for all. When Jesus died on the cross, all the sins of the world - both past, present and the future were taken upon Him. Nailed with Him to the cross. He represented the ultimate sacrifice of our sins. Only He could do it...because he was the only man that ever lived that did not sin. When we are baptized, our sins are washed away from us...the baptism represent the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We die to ourselves and say...okay, Jesus - I surrender and will follow you. We are baptized and this represents the washing away of our sins.
Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life...no one can come to the Father except through Him. Therefore...there is most definetly a Hell and punishment for sin... for those who choose not to follow Jesus, they do so at their own risk...because the Father said about Jesus, "This is my son in whom I am well pleased" and said we should listen to Him.
When we believe and follow Jesus...we are also dying to ourselves, and surrenduring our will to His purpose. That means we will not continue to go on sinning, we will repent and turn from those sins. We are not going to be perfect, we shall make mistakes...but, the point is that we keep turning back to God for forgiveness and strive to be as pure and holy as is possible. It is like a journey we make to get closer and closer to the same purity as God. Not to be 'better' than God...to be as pure as God. Our sins are carried in the cross, all the time... past, present and future... all of those sins crucified our Lord. He was the sacrifice for all of it. What we do with the gift of Jesus to us is up to us. Some will follow Him and accept His grace...those are the ones who will have grace. Those who do not...will not have Jesus as an intercessor when they stand before all at judgment. I want an intercessor for me...I know I am a sinner.

In ancient religions it was a common practice to offer sacrifices to whichever god or gods they worshiped. People would burn some of their crops or livestock as an offering to please God. This custom goes back as far as the book of Genesis where Cain's sacrifice was rejected by God and Abel's was accepted. If your sacrifice was pleasing to God you would get perks like prosperity or health or forgiveness, read "payment" of sin.

This principle is fundamental to Christianity except that the sacrifice was not crops or livestock but a human sacrifice and not just any human but the son of God. And this sacrifice was not to pay for Jesus' sins but for everybody's sins. This is what Christians are talking about when they say that Jesus carried or paid for our sins.

Jesus carried ou sins means that Jesus paid for us... He, a perfect being, saved every human by dying on teh cross. It relates to our sinful thoughts and actions because he carried them- Jesus paid for them, and took the pain instead of each human.
we don't go to heaven because he paid for our sins. everyone sins no matter what. some people go to heaven, but not for this reason, they go to heaven because they believed that Jesus died for them. Some people don't believe so, and they go to heck.

Think of it this way...let's say that someone you love very much is sick, but you're thousands of miles away at school or on business or something. It's Christmas Eve, you're out of money, and the only flight will cost 2,000 dollars. You don't have a credit card or checks and your family's money is gone because of this illness. Someone walks up to you in the airport and says, "I'd like to pay the way for you, no strings attached. Will you let me?" That's basically what Christ says to humans. We're humans and fall short, but Christ can make up the difference and does. When we die and stand before God, God has every right to turn us away, but Christ will step up and say, "Let him in, he's with me."

It's not about church and rules and praying out loud. It's about believing that Christ is the son of God and pays our way home. That's all.

Romans 6. We are saved by faith. We are no longer sinners. By faith we reckon that man of sin dead. How can we who are dead to sin abide any longer therein? Those that accept Christ become a new creature by faith if a person continues to serve sin then the person is a sinner and not saved. but please read Romans 6 it is much clearer than I can explain here.

Most certainly, Hell still remains as alive as ever; or as much a place of torment as it ever was. But when Jesus went to the cross, He done it for you and for me, as well as for every other human being who has ever lived, or shall ever live. By faith, He took our sins to the cross, and shed his precious blood to cover our sins forevermore; or that we might be forgiven forevermore. And because of that, if we believe upon Him, and ask Him to come into our hearts by faith, then He will do so, and forgive all our sins, and they will be placed under his precious blood. This does not mean that we do not continue to confess our sins when we commit them in the future, and ask for his forgiveness. But as soon as we ask for his forgiveness, we receive it by faith. And Heaven most certainly will be waiting for us when we die; or when He returns to the earth to gather us all together who have believed upon Him. And personally, I do not believe that it will be very long, before this actually takes place.

We are all born sinners, and so would normally have to go to hell for our sins, but Jesus, because he loves us so much, took our punishment for us. In return, all he asks is that we follow him.

jesus carried our sins in the cross means that he died on the cross to give us that life that we allowed sin to devour. He freed us from the law and now we live in grace his grace meaning if we go before him he's willing to wash us from all our sins and give us his life which is the holy ghost and the evidence of that is speaking in an unknown tongue which he gives to us to keep us from commiting sin not sayin we won't for God knows that we are now perfect so he died to give us another chance!!!!!
