Actually, I would have marked some extroverts as socially inept as well. I mean, trying to take control of the situation like that seems to indicate inability to adapt or handle changes of routine. Some extroverts are marked as being insensitive to the environment around them, and doing weird things because they are extroverted...

You would be surprised at the number of people who are introverts in public, but open right up in private. The saying "still waters run deep" has a lot of backing. Keep in mind also that some people just observe, and are quite happy watching other folks do their thing. It's just a different way of approaching life...

Not sure if I'd find an introvert girlfriend, since I'm of the introvert line myself. In all likelihood, I'll find and extrovert, and I'll open up just fine when I'm comfortable with the situation, or think I have something worthwhile to contribute...

Im quite an introvert, but i get mistaken for an extrovert when doing things that i love. But then when it comes to parties and that sort, i like to keep things low key and get in touch with inner peace.

Does thatmake me socially inept ? I dont think so. I'd think were two sides of the same coin.

Introverts match well with extroverts. Two extroverts as a couple eventually get on each others nerves and compete for attention. Introverts will open up when they feel you are really interested in what they have to say.

So, if someone isn't the life of the party, there is something wrong with them????

As introverts are shy, quiet and reclusive, the best way to get them to open up is to be patient, give them time, provide them opportunities to speak and demonstrate respect for what they say.

Well, thank you SOOO much for judging millions of tactful people in the world. Just because we don't derive pleasure from opening our mouths to contribute something unnecessary every five seconds doesn't mean we're weird, autistic, or socially "inadapt." *rolls eyes* At LEAST we know when we're using non-words. Idiot.

Don't try to change someone else or "get them to open up" if they don't want to. Leave it be. People want to live their own lives, not have YOU butt in to live it for them.

I think they need to be picked on relentlessly and forced to break out of their shell and conform with the rest of society.
