I'm 23 now and my dad owes thousands of dollars. Shouldn't that go to me instead of my mother?

unfortunately no (with 2 exception) because the money is sent 2 your mother for part of your living expense once your mother has passed away then u can sue him directly on her behalf and get the money that way for yourself or if u are concerned about your mother then if she sign a document saying that u are her representative for this matter (that's the abbreviated version) then u can sue 2 your hearts content but (unless she gives u gives u a commission) then all the money go 2 her but from what i have seen in my cases is that the mother is scared by the father so make sure that she know that she can get court protection by restraining order so he cant contact or anything

I hate to say it but it's owed to your mother cause she took care of you and that was her hard earned money she spent. It's kinda like a loan your dad is paying back now.I know cause my dad is 14k in debt for back child support and it all goes to my mom.

no, i live in Kentucky, and if the support was not paid, then the MOTHER can go after him and get it... SHE supported YOU... your dad owes HER
