If you based your beliefs on emotions they would be dynamic and constantly fluctuating with your mood. That is no way to live. You should base your beliefs on evidence but also gut instinct - when you choose the right belief there should be peace in your heart. If you feel uneasy and restless you need to keep searching.

I think this is a really good question. A belief may take some time to fully arrive. "Evidence" can sometimes be illusion. Emotions constantly change and fear is a bullshit way to try to force some one into thinking a certain way. To properly believe, one has to do some homework. If it is of a spiritual nature, first I suggest to pray to "The Greatest" "God" Indians called Him "The Great Spirit" or "Mother Earth" your choice, but ask for wisdom and knowledge. Have a true heart, and start basing your beliefs on what you discover.
Best to you,
D

Evidence. Although there seems to be disagreement over what "evidence" is. Christians believe that what the Bible contains is evidence. Non-Christians don't. Hopes & fears are feelings rather than evidence but evidence can give rise to hope & quiet fears or vice-versa.

Evidence of course. Why would you base them off hope or fear? Hmmm I am afraid there is a ghost in the attic, so it must be. Get my point?

You should base your beliefs off of science and educated evidence; then, put your emotions behind those principles.

First, your uncomplicated premise suffers from the Genetic Fallacy, a logical blunders meaning that how we come to truths concerns. It would not. 2nd, you're in basic terms incorrect. maximum of non-Christians and non-theists think of that faith is approximately worry by using fact they only can no longer arise with yet another answer. surely, in basic terms approximately none all people is nervous of dying, are nervous of judgment, or are afraid that there is no longer something after dying. the reward of being a follower of Jesus in this existence an excellent, and if there have been no afterlife, i could nevertheless be a follower of Jesus. i'm no longer on my own in that view. maximum Christians will agree. so which you're left having to confront the reality that we are no longer triggered via worry yet a choose for fact.
