These things can be done with or without children....young and old:
Visit the dog park, whether you have dogs or not. It is the happiest place on Earth. The dogs are all happy, wagging tails and running and fetching.
Find a river, lake or stream that has ducks or goldfish. Bring some plain sandwich bread and feed them.
Browse a used bookstore or library. Read magazines at the library.
Go to the farmer's market and buy fresh vegetables for the week. The vivid colors and smells are wonderful!
Find a Mexican, Italian or Middle Eastern pastry shop and buy something new that you never tried before.
Find a fountain or hotel lobby to hang out and talk.
Go to a stage play. It is a special form of entertainment. The community colleges have affordable prices and the performances are surprisingly professional.
Have Fun!
