I have a roommate, and he lacks common courtesy. I have pet peeves, and he violates both of them without believing he's doing something wrong: he uses my shower products, and he drinks straight from the Coke bottle when there are two other people (women, including myself) in the house who just wretch at the thought of backwash in our drinking products. Problem: he owns the house we live in. Any suggestions aside from "talking" to him, which has been done before and won't do any good?

Both of you take turns spitting in the coke and leave that for him. Next stop drinking coke. Finally, put Nair or hair remover in your shower products, or blonde hair dye. Stop using them. Have a small kit bag of your own private stuff and take it in and out of shared spaces. Leave the tainted stuff for him. And remember to buy lots of film moments like these are worth sharing with your kids.

The best thing to do would be to move but if that is not an option then take your shower products into your room and purchase single use drinks.
Good luck to you.

It seems like there are definite personality clashes in your house. He doesn't seem to care about anyone but himself and him owning the house makes things much worse!
I would look for another place to live. I could not put up with it.
If you can't leave.......buy your own food and drinks and split the fridge in three. Have a personal items shelf. Clearly label your shower items with your name and a "Don't Touch"!
Good luck!

Hmm, did you know that a few drops of visine in a drink will cause diarrhea, I also like the nair idea. Or do you have another guy friend that could make a special contribution if you know what I mean.

Purchase a small fridge for only the two of you ladies to use. Keep all of your stuff in there. It will cost less than $200.00 and will be well worth it. He is just a controlling jerk. So take control in this fashion.

Well it's his house so - buy single serving sodas - more expensive but no drool and keep your bathing products in a basket in your room to prevent his using them. Good Luck!

If he knows about your pet peeves, he may be doing stuff just to annoy you. He could be wanting you to move out and doesn't have the nerve to say anything to you. Honestly, if I were you, I'd be looking for a new place.

You should buy Diet Coke, most guys don't like it. Buy him a "gift" of manly shower products... It's a tough one cos it's his house.

All of the above answers seem pretty good! I think the best one is to keep your beauty products in your room....and buy single serve drinks. :)

you can always put something in the coke to get him to stop and them tell him about it even the shower products or you can take them to your room and take them with you to the bathroom when you use them
