Does that mean they no longer matter to us, or is it just the technicality of the holy relationship is no longer necessary and is therefor non-existant, as you're with God? Do they just become like anybody else?

Nobody is answering the question! Well, maybe that one person did. So we love everybody? Our spouse isn't any different than anybody else? Do we at least know they were our wife/husband?

It's communion with God. Call me a Hindu, but I sort of think of that as becoming one with God and each other (since God is in each of us). You know, the one drop falling back into and becoming one with the wave. And what is marriage then? We are all in communion together.

I believe my Wife will still be precious to me in Heaven, but as you said the holy relationship is no longer necessary because we are with God. We are The Bride of Christ. From a strictly finite, human point of view, I can't imagine ever not Loving my Wife.

I really wish I knew the answer to your question...but, I do not. I think some of the answers given are biblical, and they make sense based on people who have studied the bible a great deal...referring to those who spoke of the bride of Christ, and the transformation of our bodies... However, I have had struggle myself with the idea of not being married to the love of my life. He is a wonderful man, not perfect, but I love him so much. I feel he is a part of me, of who I am... However, our love transcends the physical too, the bond I have with him is on such an emotional, spiritual, and mental level...that the physical is more a result of those ties. I cannot think of being parted from that incredible love. I do not believe I will be parted... I think that we shall be transformed in body, free from the desires of the flesh in that manner. But, the closeness - intimacy we feel with each other will be enhanced. Honestly, that is a sweetness I can only fathom from the close bond I have with my love, my parents and a few friends that I have been close to over the years. However...marriage is the bond that is referred to with the church and Jesus... we are all part of the church, who have followed Jesus. I do not understand it, but it will be pure, holy and without sin or taint to it. It will be something beyond our comprehension.

I don't think that it will matter because life there is not going to be very much like what we know and understand here. We are going to be continuously overwhelmed with the full magnitude of the Holy presence of God for all eternity. All other things are going to become extremely unimportant in that situation. It's going to be awesome!

Marital relation is one of the greatest pleasure in the sense of belongingness, love and sex. If heaven means good reward for action in this life, than how can God won't provide such great reward. It definitely will be their for the people with correct belief in God and obedience of God.
This is Islamic view.

We are continually called the bride of Christ (Revelation 21:2,9). Ephesians 5 talks about earthly marriage relationships as a picture of Jesus and the church. So, I would guess that as we celebrate the marriage feast of the Lamb, we are married to Jesus in a spiritual sense. Thus, our physical relationships on earth will be so pale in comparison... the union that we will have with Jesus will be so much deeper that He will be our one focus. All other relationships will be much less, even our spouses from earth...

If I understand it correctly, I think that it means that when the physicality of this world dissappears (and the lust that goes with it) we will all be capable of loving each other in a way that only God understands. There will be no limit to the way that we can all love each other that there will be no "favorites".

I've studied a lot of different religions, so I've heard several answers to your question.....none of which make any sense to me. One talks about several levels of heaven (as Dante's Inferno talks about several levels of Hell). But that deals with reincarnation, so if you don't want to consider that, I have nothing more to say.

Good question... you're right that there is no marriage in heaven.

There is no need for procreation for reproduction in heaven. And there is no need for procreation for recreation in heaven.

The euphoria we feel in sexual activity is a small precursor of the more lasting Joy we are promised in heaven.

Cordially,

Who told you that? Of course marriage exists in heaven. And if you've been married more than once, then you just stay married to your most recent one. Or you can get divorced up there, if you'd rather. Staying married would be hell for some of us.
