if I was out in the middle of the desert, looking around would appear to be a circle, or my little universe everywhere I went

what does the greek/latin/hebrew/aramaic/kemetic texts say? isn't a circle NOT a sphere? rather flat and linear, yes? even in Isaiah 40 it's spoken in shepherd and flock terms

Heavens is "shamayim" in Hebrew, meaning lofty place, or where G-d lives, or the dimension between land and above as if there is a real curtain or tent above us and end to it's height

here is a modern person stuck in denial and nomadic thoughts

"Nobody knows anything about the true shape of the world," he contends. "The known, inhabited world is flat. Just as a guess, I'd say that the dome of heaven is about 4,000 miles away, and the stars are about as far as San Francisco is from Boston."

to the biblebot- you said:Now, if these 'nomadic wanderers' knew that the earth was round and unsupported in space -- millenia before scientific knowledge confirmed those facts -- from where did they get their information?

simple

in studying culinary art, I found that Jewish food was largely the result of all the contries they traveled in and absorbed thier culture and foods from, then later consolidated into what is fabulous and exquisite modern day healthy eating. I feel they also took other religions and info and added thier own spin on it

Actually, I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere that in Hebrew, the same word that can be translated circle can also mean sphere.
As for the remark about heaven, well, the fermament or atmosphere could be the "tent" or "curtain" that you refer to.

Have you seen a photo of the earth from space? What does it look like? A two-dimensional image of a sphere, or a circle. Isaiah wasn't a mathematician, he was a prophet, speaking in simple terms.

Another scripture says that the earth is hanging upon nothing. Now, if these 'nomadic wanderers' knew that the earth was round and unsupported in space -- millenia before scientific knowledge confirmed those facts -- from where did they get their information?
