The tax rate is set by the state where you will be registering the car. Each state is different. They also set the title and tag fees that have to be paid. You do not say where you are located, so it is not possible to give you exact information for your state. Do a googel search for "(your state) DMV to locate the state DMV,(or whatever it is called in your state) website for exact information

in calif tax is 8.25% smog is $50. lic fee is 1.25% of value and transfer is $20 and title is $15, call dmv at 1 800 777 0133

its all based on the price of the car,,usually its a percentage of what the car is worth,,but this amount changes from state to state ,its almost impossible to figure this from any one state,,good luck ,hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
