I know it's for editing photos, but in school we used it in art class for making pictures, and my friend once drew a picture with it. So how come when I went to the store and looked at the box, it only had things about editing photos? Is the drawing one a certain version? Also, does Adobe Photoshop Elements have drawing capabilities?

Its a professional raster image (such as photos, scans, etc.) editing software. It has a lot of features including drawing tools and graphical filters to help you modify pictures. Elements is a cut-down version of Photoshop. Compare features at Adobe's website ( www.adobe.com ).

Photos were mentioned most probably because its hot right now - everyone these days has digital cameras, many of them are crappy, and pictures require additional work.

Because of its powerfull features, it's also very popular among web designers and graphic artists (who often utilize graphics pads such as Wacom together with Photoshop)

As an alternative to Photoshop or ILlustrator, try the programs at this website, they are free, and you might enjoy working with them!
