and now my music files have skips in them, Did compressing files(I think she compress old files out of disk cleanup for C) affect my music files? I suppose the sound quality seems the same, but now it seems there are skips and spaces, and a song will get stuck at a spot while playing.

your files are not damaged id imagine the high compression rate is simply making it harder for the pc to decompress and play them through the sound card is my guess

I think it would make them harder to play. Is there anyway to delete them & add the new music files. I know that it takes time, but that may be your only option. Dont do compression on them again.

Have you uncompressed the files since then? Uncompress (or decompress) the songs first, and then your computer won't have to do it "on the fly" while trying to play the song at the same time, which can eat up your CPU's processing power.
