While I lived in NYC, I remember that Tad's was the best in good yet inexpensive steaks.

Tad's Steakhouse
119 W. 42nd Street
1515 Broadway
701 7th Avenue

I DON'T THINK ANYONE IN N.Y. WOULD DO THE STREAKS WITHOUT IT BEING EXPENSIVE.
