I have never really understood this. Like, what makes people think someone is "hot"/"beautiful". Any help would be nice, thanks!

Hot is a little different than beautiful.
Beautiful is purely about looks. A barbie doll is beautiful. It implies the woman is proportionate, youthful, and made-over.
Hot adds the implication of sexual agressiveness. All the women on the cover of Maxim, or FHM are "hot". Remember, a lot of women are trained in this b.s. idea that they have to be reticent about sex and hold back, or they'll be "sluts". In actuality, only other women call women "sluts". Men don't use this term, unless they're a brother or father trying to protect the girl.
Edit: note "b_alla_azn_miss"'s comment. She downgrades the actual definition of hot, calling it "slutz" because this creates competition for her. Think about it: if women are aggressive sexually, then for other women, they have more competition,and will lose out to the aggressive one. Ignore it; if you want to be successful with men, more sexual aggressiveness (on your part, not the guy's) will work to your advantage.
So any woman that has an appearance and behavior that's more sexually aggressive, which in effect gives men a break when they're trying to find women that are willing to be involved in a sexual relationship, is deemed, "hot".
Final edit. This is not the same as "raunchy". Raunchy is exposing genitals and talking about bodily functions in polite settings.

What makes a Woman beautiful and Hot is the way she carry's herself and how she acts. If she has a soft voice with the cutest giggle or laugh and sparkly eyes, it won't be long before someone or somebody grabs that up and moves in for the hunt to end. In some cases, Woman with these qualities don;t have to look very hard to find a Man.

A healthy level of self-confidense and a great sense of humor generally are essential qualities to long-term hotness. One of my friends swears that the hottest women usually don't know they are hot. Participating in sports and not being afraid to let a guy see you when your covered in sweat is considered by many men to be majorly hot.
I can promise you being raunchy is not hot, no matter how many times Paris Hilton is photographed. Most guys I know don't consider raunchy behavior hot - they just like watching women make fools of themselves so they can laugh about it later with their buddies.

"As a man thinketh so is He". same applies to the woman; If I feel good about who I am inside then it will spill to the outside and show; which is how you have beautiful women; now, you got some women that some may NOT consider beautiful but they keep themselves up and are good to be around and folks gravitate towards them; but then again, it goes back to what you feel inside.

Confidence, Class and Charisma...the way she walks and talks, her choice of clothing, the length of her hair, her attitude...She doesn't wear make up because she doesn't have too, she's not skinny and doesn't smoke, she's cool but not cold, she's bold but not a *****, she's makes you wanna be around her or think about her when you're not.

...........Are you serious? Most of women's literature is comprised of beauty magazines and you have no idea what men consider physically attractive?
Look at any beauty magazine, but then erase the idea that men are attracted to women who are under 120 lbs. They need to have SOME mass on them.

beautiful= jsut a REELY pretty face. hard to come around.
