I took accutane. It is fairly expensive. It works, but the side effects can be pretty bad, and the worst part is, they can be PERMANENT!

You get dry lips, moth, eyes, hands and everything else. You can lose your night vision (mine is still pretty bad - from 8 years ago!). You can't get you skin waxed (it will rip the skin off). It can give you cholesterol problems. Also, if someone gets pregnant on it, it causes seriously deformed babies.

Accutane is dangerous and females should never take it.
Too many side effects to make it worth taking.
Deafness is the latest side effect. Saw this on the news just the other night and was surprised the FDA hasn't removed it from the shelves.
Why take a drug that will effect your whole body to have clear skin?
Acne treatment products take care of the symptoms.
Do you think it could be your lifestyle? especially diet? An imbalance in your system could cause acne. acid/alkaline, etc.

Accutane is effective for acne, but it can have very serious/dangerous side effects. It's only to be prescribed in serious cases and only after everything else has failed. See a good dermatologist.

My sister used Accutane. It worked wonders for her when nothing else (including Proactive) did. Give it a try, but use caution and be aware of all of the possible side effects.

Accutane is something you'd need to get from your dermatologist or family physician because of its potency. It does help, but females need to be on a form of birth control because accutane is known to cause birth defects.
