There are only three situations in which photos can be given as a gift.
1. From children to parents or other older relatives.
2. To a lover, spouse, girlfriend or boyfriend.
3. To a best friend if it is an exchange and not a gift.
Otherwise it ends up looking concieted or vain. Better is to give them a picture of the two of you, or of them alone that you took.

See the problem with this is that even though the frame is 'nice', it may not match their decor. And if you were coming over for a visit in the future, they would have to take your picture out of the drawer they stuffed it in and display it just to be nice to you. I know it is the thought that counts, but when you are gift-giving you really have to take things into consideration or it could seem thoughtless to the receiver. I stay away from decorations as presents. Please, I am not trying to be sarcastic or rude.

Yeah, if it is to your Grandmother or Mom then it is not so tacky. But you may get a framed picture of yourself thrown at you if you try to give it to anyone else as a gift.

lol kinda..why don't you put a picture of you and the person you are giving it to in the frame? If you don't have one of the both of you I would put a pic of the other person in the frame..make sure it's a good pic though so you don't embarrass them

Yes. Far better that you should put a photograph of someone else they know in the frame, unless of course you are a film star or a country and western singer and have autographed the photo.

There is a law about that. Pictures are good gifts if they go "grandchild to parent or grandpaernt." But if grandparents are giving frames pics of themselves to grandchildren, its a no-no

It can be in certain cases. As a rule, I would only give a picture of yourself to very close friends or family members, and even then I would be careful. Otherwise, you may come across as conceited or self-centered.

Unless you are a stunningly attractive female and the picture shows you in a state of undress then yes.
