There is no good or kind way to tell her that ...

Would she tell you if you were gaining weight?

Maybe you could take walks together, join a gym, do a fun, physical couples activity ...

Don't ruin her (and your) holidays.

Just tell her she may be a little hurt but oh well U told her. Like wen u are with her start like eating a little more healthier,if you are keep up the good work. And also maybe go to the gym a few times a week or once in a while. Just dont tell her that she is fat tell her she is gaining a little weight and u are concerned about it.Us girls DO get a little offened but after a while we will get over it. Just tell her you are concerned. She should understand! Good Luck!

First: you really seem to love your girlfriend since you are aware you might hurt her feelings. I had a similar problem.

I suggested that both of us would every monday check our weight and write the result on a chart. We both saw how we reduced our weight, it was a joyful way to control ourselves, especially for the one who is more successful in a week - the next week the other may be the winner.

If you also suggest something like that, you're not telling her she's gaining weight, you just tell her you would like her to loose weight. This may still hurt her feelings, but not that much.
Has she never said anything like she has problems wearing clothes she could wear last year or things like that? This would be an occasion to tell her softly.

I'm sure she doesn't need you to tell her. She can see it in the mirror and the way her clothes are fitting. My suggestion would be to say nothing but next time you are going out, take her someplace where you can rollerblade, take a long romantic walk, swim, etc. When taking her out for a meal, choose places that are not fast-food greasy joints. You don't have to be obvious, just change some of things you do slowly. The best way to lose a girlfriend or have her eat more or, even worse, become Bolimic, is to nag at her.

make a comment about how much weight you have gained (whether or not you have), then see what her response is. If she says, yeah, I have some weight to lose too, then start a work out plan. If she ignores the issue, then come right out and tell her if she gains anymore weight, then its a deal breaker. I think its wrong to start dating someone when you are a size 6 then turn into a size 12. And it is not shallow to want to date someone at a healthy weight.

You could invite her to do some walks with you. It helps burn the fat. Watch what you eat together - lesser calories and stock some non-fat yogurt and fruits. These are some ways of telling her about the weight gain yet you're helping her get rid of the extra pounds. Good luck.

don't tell her that. you would really hurt her feelings. When couples get comfy with eachother one or the other will gain wait, because they are comfortable with that person. Plus staying up late and munching, is fun when your with eachother. If you are really concerned about it, then get involved in a good way. like say hey, you wanna go for a walk with me? Then you will both exercise together, without her knowing the wiser. Good luck

I'm sure she knows, it is her body after all........what exactly would be your point in stating the obvious is what I want you to think about.....Because what I hear you saying is that you want to suggest to her that she LOSE weight, not tell her that she's gaining it. Until she is unhappy with herself, or her health is at risk, keep it to yourself. If you would like to discuss with her things about yourself that you'd like to change, there's a good chance that she'll reciprocate with stories of her own insecurities. If and when that occurs, suggesting that you join a gym together may be a better approach....Also, be supportive if she decides to diet. I'm not sure if you live together, but if you do, you can start to eat healthier along with her. Dieting when your partner is busy stuffing his/her face is tough and way too tempting...

Ask her if everything is okay and ask her if she is stressed; some people eat more when they are stressed. Be kind and don't tell her she looks like she is gaining weight unless the conversation calls for it. Treat her the same because you should love her no matter what she looks like.

I don't think there is really a nice way to tell a girl she is gaining weight. No girls really even wants to hear she is gaining weight.
