You will believe in God if you want to believe in God. But reading the Bible will help you know WHAT to believe ABOUT God.

Well, I can tell you that it certainly did a friend of mine. She was a non believer at first. She read the entire Bible from front to back and by the time she got to the end she was, and still is, a true believer. That was more than 15 years ago.

Yes. Romans 10:17 "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God".
Read the Word(bible) and pray....God will not turn a deaf ear,if you are serious. I promise!!
Seek advice from a real Christian that you may know or better yet,get involved in a local bible believing church.
Remember, God does not hide from us..we have been hiding from Him.

it will help you along your way into accepting God. Yes. though it is very easy to misinterpret and take passages of the bible out of context just as extreme atheists do. this is why it is important to get with a bible study group or class. It is also imperative that you pray to block satan's temptation. he will try every mean to manipulate you from loving and believing in God just as he did me before i was saved again. remember, he uses people to spread falsehoods and make you believe that there isnt a god as well as tempt you to do things against the words of Christ. find a prayer buddy as well whether it be online or at a local church for encouragement and teaching. also pray for understanding of God. Sad enough, you will not find to many christians to encourage you on your path here on answers but the bible alone will not help u believe in God, it is good reference for the life that he wants you to lead. Merry christmas and God bless.

...Most definitely. Romans 10:17 says,
..."So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."
...Spending time in the Scriptures is your spiritual food, observe:
Matthew 4:4 says, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out the mouth of God."
...Question - do you eat physical food just one day a week; no. Get into God' Word every day, and as the kids' song says, "you'll grow, grow, grow."
...And 1 Peter 2:2 says this: "As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grown in respect to salvation."
...One more thing: read it? Yes, but also obey it, and God will bless your life - observe James 1:25
...25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.
...In God strength, make sure you are a doer of the Word.

The answer is in your heart dear... Do you want to believe in God? that is the real question. If you do not desire to know God, then you can read the bible all you want, go to church all you want, and never really know God. You will know alot about His character. But it takes a real relationship to know someone doesn't it?

The Bible will help you believe in whatever you wanted to believe in the first place.

As I am sure you are an intelligent person, perhaps you can answer this question then. The Bible that everyone says is infallible states that men are fallible(meaning they make mistakes or errors in their lives). Okay, I understand that, but if men are fallible and the Bible was written by men, does that not mean the Bible is fallible too?

In combination with prayer. I think scripture sometimes reads like gibberish to the unbeliever who is not guided by the Holy Spirit. Read AND ask God for understanding.

It could have the opposite effect - as it did for me. I thought the whole book was so ludicrous, that I became agnostic and decided that some things are just unknowable and not worth fretting over. Take care of this life instead of worrying about the afterlife.
