I get confused with the book and notes.

- vibrations travel along teh scala vestibuli and these vibrations push on the vestibular membrane.
- then it is transmitted to the endolymph. the endolymph moves the basilar membrane which contains the Organ of Corti which contains receptor cells.

can someone give me a thorough analysis or description to clarify my misunderstandings.

Basically, you have it correct. The vibrations are then transferred to the fluid in the semicircular canals, and then to the organ of corti where they are detected by the receptor cells.
