Is your cat older? Could be it's just getting on in years and doesn't feel up to running around and playing. I have one cat that has been a couch potato ever since I got it, and it was a pretty young cat at the time. It rarely likes to play, and it is fat. It's hard to put one cat on a diet when you have four, like I do. But if you can, try to give it diet cat food if it gains too much weight, and not feed it too many treats. Also, maybe some catnip toys will liven him/her up sometimes. Good luck.

Just let the cat be a cat. My cat is as lazy as can be and then, without warning, it zooms off running around the house. It's just being a cat.

Sudden lassitude can be something as simple as tummy upset, but could also be a symptom of a more serious underlying condition. If it lasts longer than 24 hours, seek a vet as soon as possible. During the holidays you can go to an animals emergency center.

Play with your cat more, get a small bouncing ball and roll it and the cat will chase it keep playing with him/her. Talk to your cat all the time. My cat was doing the same thing but I realized i wasn't playing with her like i should of been and it worked. We have our special play time. I buy her little mice and toss it around. She's back to her frisky self. :-)

Well this could be cauze of a number of reasons:
1) Your cat iz gettin old (as u kno old people & animals arent very active when they get older)
2) Some cats tend to mature & not want to play as much as when they were kittens.
3) Ur cat might be picky on what toyz she or he wants to play with.
These are the main reasons for ur catz behaviour.

Me, bein a owner of 9 catz, a couple of my catz dont play as much as they used to. I find this is becauze they are not interested in the toyz i have for them. One of my catz will onlii play with one toy in the hundredz i have for them all.

Hope this helped,
Merry Christmas

if its sudden then take him to the vet. Cats like humans slow down with age. You know he may just not feel well. I know my boy gets that way sometimes and i realize he had a little tummy upset or something.

If your cat is 9 years - up, they will start to slow down like humans when we get old, but if it's under 9 years take it to the vet. Oh and cats get fat if you give them to much human food.

try some catnip. also, try ones of those laser pointers, mine go crazy chasing that light. up the walls and everything.

it also might be sick, consider taking it to the vet for a standard checkup to make sure nothing is wrong
