Hey Jen,

If you know when the resident died, you can look for the Obituary in the library. Ask a librarian for help, talk nice to them and they are happy to help.

You can look in Family Search also.

Depends on local authorities and your purpose, in Oz only Rels can apply formally. U may be able to research libraries for newspaper Obits, if you know details.

Depending on what information you are looking for you might try the Social Security Death Index (SSDI).
